Please feel free to contact me if you have questions and or concerns regarding your daughter/son. I look forward to meeting with you over the course of this year!

HOMEWORK

There will be minimal homework that is brought home this year. Grade 5 students are expected to read 30 minutes each night and record their finished books in their personal reading log. Their reading log will remain in school. This will get passed into me every month. Also every Wednesday the students will bring home what we call "Wacky Wednesday Homework" which is basically a sheet on skills that we are working on in reading, writing or math. It is due the next day.

Each week the students will have a Math Fact Focus that we will work on. Students will be encouraged to review this each night. This can be done by using flash cards, games, songs, poems, pen and paper, pictures etc. This is intended to be a fun practice.

 CLASS CLUBS

We have two class clubs that run during noontime for those who are interested. The  5 Wentzell  Newsletter Club and the 5W Website Updaters. We look forward to their creations, creativity and news!

CLASS PRESENTATIONS

Starting Monday Jan. 9, the students in 5W will have a choice of presenting a talent or bringing something in to show to the class. We look forward to these presentations.
