How to get a list of students with perfect daily attendance

Select Report Cards

Select Edit - Honor Roll

On the Students & Courses tab - select all grades, bins, and programs. (Inactive students can be included)

Select the Attendance & Marks tab - Set GPA and Percentage criteria to:

Percent - All Marks between 0.00 and 120.00

Set the first choice in the lower left box to Use Daily Attendance

Set the second choice to All lates no more than 0

Set the third choice to All absences no more than 0

Set the date range to the dates wanted

Do not exclude students with failing marks

Be sure to use all courses

Select OK to generate the Honor Roll

The list can be selected in the fifth column from the left.

You can sort the students if you wish based on the honor status if you wish.

Use CNTRL + Shift and select the first student with honor status and it will select all students below the first one.

Go to the top of the window and click on the win school symbol and select print.  This will generate a report with the selected students.

How to Recalculate Bins

Start Win School - select the Report Cards Module.

Select the Student window - Hold the shift key down and select one student and all students should be selected. (X in each box)

Select the Classes window - Hold the shift key down and select one course and all classes should be selected. (X in each box)

Go to the Marks menu - select Recalc. Bins

Select all of the bins you wish to recalculate.

Click OK - A dialog box appears showing the number of students, number of courses, and number of bins to be recalculated.

Click OK to continue

How to assign Promotion Status to student records

Start Win School - Select Report Cards

Select the Student window - In the 5th column from the left you are able to scroll through until you see the Promotion Status Heading.

Each Student show the current status - click on the current status and you can change it.

If you hold the shift key and change the status of one student it will change all students to that status.

Usually all students are promoted and retained are assigned as necessary.

How to assign Graduated Status to student records

Start Win School - Open Report cards

Open the Student window - select the edit menu - sort

Sort students by Grade in ascending order - select Sort - Sort All

Scroll down to the students you want to change.

In the 5th column over from the left - click and hold the arrow at the top - select Graduated Staus.

You can change each student seperately by clicking and holding on the current status and switching it.

You can switch all by holding the shift key and changing one student record.

You can switch all below a point holding the CTRL & Shift keys and change the top one in the list you want to change.

How to print a Student Promotion Report

Start Win School - select Report cards

From the reports menu - select Student Promotion

The report is generated - click on the printer in the upper left corner of the window - select print.

Done

How to write Teacher's Classes

Open Win School - Select Report Cards

Select the Marks menu - write teachers classes

Select the terms you wish to write at the top - it is OK to write all the terms as it will overwrite the rosters each time you do it.

Select the teachers for which you wish to write the classes - (Hold the shift key down and select the box beside one teacher's name to select all teachers) - if you click on the plus sign beside the teacher's name it will show all of the courses that teacher has and you can select the courses individually if you wish.

In the Bins section select all of the bins - in the file format - select eClass Grades - in the destination section - Individual Teacher Folders - place a checkmark in the box beside - write setup file the first time the rosters are written to the teachers folders.

When you select the Folder Button it will looking for the destination directory.  The drive letter may be different but you should have a parentf directory on your server.  This is the directory you need to select and click OK.

When this is ready you can select write and it will create the folders and write the rosters to the teachers folders in the parentf directory.  Each time students are moved from one class to another in Win School the rosters need to be updated using this process.

Teachers will need to open their class in eClass Grades and import the roster again to have new students show up and students who are no longer in the course will have the ~ symbol in front of their name.  In the student window of eClass Grades they can select the inactive student be clicking on the column to the left of the number beside the student's name - go to edit and delete row.  This will remove the inactive student from the eClass Grades file.

How to copy course GPA and earned credit settings to student records

Open Win School - Select Report Cards

Select the Students button - Hold the shift key down and select the box for one student to select all students.

Select Classes - Hold the shift key down and select the box for one Class to select all Classes.

Select Edit - Clear/Set Bin Info.

Check the following checkboxes:  Use in GPA - Use in E. Credits - P&C Table - Final Mark flag - Potential Credits

Select all bins at the top of the window - Select OK

How to recalculate GPA and earned credits in students records

Open Win School - Select Report Cards

Select the Students window - Hold down the shift key and click on the box for the first student - All students will now be selected.

Select the Classes window - Hold down the shift key and click on the box for the first class - All classes will now be selected.

Select Marks - Recalc Bins - Select all of the bins by clicking on each box or holding the shift key down and clicking one of the boxes.

Select OK (a dialog box appears) - Select OK again.

How to enter comments into the comment bank

Open Win School - Select Report Cards

Select Edit - Comments - A window with the comment list opens - Scroll to the bottom of the comment list.

Select File - New - The code would be the next number.

Type in the comment you wish to add to the list - You may personalize the comment using the buttons at the botttom of the window - click on the symbol you wish to have and it will be inserted.

Click OK and repeat to add more comments.

Please Note:  When new comments are added during the school year - the teacher classes need to be written again - the teachers need to open their classes in eClass Grades and use the File - Import Rosters command again to update the comment list for that class.

How to print a copy of the comments from Win School

Open Win School - Select Report Cards

Select Edit - Comments

Hold down the shift key and click the box for one comment - all comments should be selected.

From the system icon - select print - a report is generated - again select the system icon and print to print the comments.  This list can be given to teachers to use in eClass Grades.

How to Download Class Attendance to Report Cards

Open Win School - Select Reort Cards

Select the Students button - Hold the shift key down and click on the box for one student - all students will be selected.

Select Classes - Hold the shift key down and click on the box for one class - all classes will be selected.

Select Marks - Write Attendance Totals - A dialog box appears

Select the current grading period - enter the date from - enter the date to - students (selected) - classes (all)

Select OK and the attendance totals will be written.
