Why do it?

There are a number of special benefits gained by IB students, particularly those in the full diploma program.  They include:

  • IB educates the “whole person”.

  • IB provides a genuine challenge, even to the most academically inclined.

  • IB helps students learn how to learn and how to analyze.

  • IB provides a genuine challenge, even to the most academically inclined.

  • IB provides a broad general education, while still allowing specialized study in areas corresponding to the individual’s particular interests and plans for the future.

  • IB is a program and curriculum that is recognized by universities worldwide.

  • IB has an internationally-based standard of achievement.

  • IB emphasizes internationalism.  The programme encourages students to appreciate cultures and attitudes other than their own, and to be informed, tolerant and willing to interact with others.

  • IB promotes the development of excellent time management, organizational and study skills.

  • IB students enjoy classes with other highly motivated students.

  • IB provides opportunities for volunteer community service.

Many students do not understand the true benefit of the  IB program until they start university, when they realize that their high school background in IB classes allows for a more seamless transition into post-secondary study.
