Peppered moth simulationSince we have started working on the unit of genetics and reproduction, we have neglected to talk about how speciation occurs. Why are there so many people with so many different traits? One of the more famous people to look at this question was Charles Darwin. He travelled the world aboard a sailing vessel studying birds and other wildlife in remote places such as the Galapagos Islands. He made some very interesting observations and wrote a book about his journey and why he thought there were so many different varieties of birds.
