In the spring of 2015, the Nova Scotia Government subscribed to a $400 000 project that would see one makerspace created in each of the provinces school boards.  Partnering with Brilliant Labs out of New Brunswick, the government has provided our school, Bridgewater Jr./Sr. High, with a large variety of technologies, arts and craft supplies, and household products; all for the use of students within the designated makerspace.

Our space is the Viking Commons.  It is located in the former library.  The books remain but the library clerk position was removed.  Today, the space is supervised by teachers and myself.  It is a place for students to do their school work, to study and/or converse, and to express their creativity in numerous means.
